When you hear the term “child entrepreneur,” what image springs to mind? A kid running a lemonade stand? A Girl Scout going door to door with cookies? Yeah, that’s what we used to imagine as well. But it turns out that there are some children out there with some real entrepreneurial skills beyond making a few pennies on sweets. These young businessmen and businesswomen are the future of finance, and it’s really cool to see them getting success so early. Sometimes these kids are even making way more money than we are. Prepare to be jealous.
Mia Felber
Just in case you thought that there would never be a successful entrepreneur younger than Moziah Bridges, we present to you Mia Felber. She started a company called Paleo Pets when she was only eight years old. That’s crazy! We were too busy playing Pokemon when we were eight to even think about starting a business. Paleo Pets is a company that creates natural and healthy products for pets. Mia made the smart choice of sourcing all of the things she needed locally, which ended up being a huge selling point for her company. Paleo Pets has all kinds of products for that pooch or kitty in your life, and it all came from the mind of an eight year old. Brilliant.
Rachel Zietz
They often say the necessity is the mother of invention. For young Rachel Zietz, that was definitely true. She is a passionate lacrosse player, and one day she was lamenting the lack of actually high quality equipment for the sport. She wanted to have some really good equipment to play with, so she started to think to herself that she should just make it herself. And that’s what she did! At the age of thirteen, she got a loan to start a small business and ended up on Shark Tank after bringing in some huge profits. They didn’t invest in her, but that was their loss. Her company has now made millions of dollars. Moral of the story? Get started early folks! Oh, and work on something that you love. That’s a good lesson too.
Noa Mintz
When Noa Mintz decided to make a company when she was only 12 years old, she didn’t try to reinvent the wheel. Instead, she just created a service that she knew people needed. As a young New Yorker, she knew that New York families needed nannies, so she created a company called Nannies by Noa. She got a ton of press, and Noa herself ended up making about $500,000 a year. The company was making such a profit that she hired a professional CEO to manage things for her, leaving her to just sit back and take in all the winnings. It sounds like Noa really has a bright future ahead of her!
Moziah Bridges
At first glance, Moziah Bridges looks like your typical kid. Aside from one factor: he dresses quite snappily. There’s more to him than just a good sense of fashion, though. He’s also an expert entrepreneur. In fact, he combined his love of nice clothes and his inherent sense of business to create a company called Mo’s Bows (great name, Mo) when he was only nine years old. Can you believe that? The young guy designs bow ties while his mother takes care of the more concrete business choices that might be beyond a child’s abilities. He plans to eventually take more control over the decision making for the company, however, and we’re sure that he will succeed at that too! They’ve already sold more than $300,000 worth of bow ties, so it seems like his designs are doing quite well.
